e-Commerce

In the era of progressive outlook, Flipkart  had emerged to be a major manifestation in the field of e-commerce.

Pic Courtesy :- YOURSTORY
A pioneer in Indian e-retail, Flipkart went from your go-to place for books to now, for everything under the sun. However, we aren't really unaware of Walmart buying  upto 75% equity stake in the company. We can easily relate to the fact now that the forthcoming biggie, Walmart can cause a reduction in prices. As it was already prevalent that Amazon was guilty of luring away Flipkart customers to a great deal because of its promising products and cheaper price policy, Walmart claims to provide greater benefits to the consumers for its eminent price factor. Hence, a prosperous e-retail  market turbulence between amazon and flipkart can be expected in future.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

AI (artificial intelligence) is the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computer systems. These processes include learning (the acquisition of information and rules for using the information), reasoning (using the rules to reach approximate or definite conclusions) and self-correction. Particular applications of AI include expert systems, speech recognition and machine vision.  Well, this conventional definition doesn't make things clear to make ends meet. Artificial intelligence is nothing but the automated voices and messages that we receive while the implementation of digital devices. Siri is one of the latest among them. Recently, Amazon Alexa, the eminent AI device is making a buzz in the market. Also, robotic objects are a vital aspect of AI.

Artificial intelligence helps us deal with the massive scaling up of communication that the internet has made possible and – gasp – actually help humans understand one another a little better. According to estimates, it is said that in the coming times, AI might lead to the demise of human race.

Although, the fear that machines will inevitably turn against their creators says more about us as humans than it does about AI.  It is believed by scientists that we have millions of years of evolution that has largely been about survival – the code contained in our brains is focused on making sure we get to see another day and on pass on our genes to the next generation.

INDIA : Pharmacy of the developing world!

via GIPHY
Developing countries across the world face several challenges, key among which is providing their people with affordable medicines of high-quality.

A ‘public first’ approach to policy, strict IPR policy and doctors who have used reverse-engineering to introduce generic drugs, are some of the reasons that India has emerged as the ‘pharmacy’ of the developing world.

"Before 2005, India did not grant product patents on medicines. This allowed for the production of low-cost, generic versions of medicines that were patented in other countries.  Indian manufacturers, with their reverse engineering skills, were the first to market low-cost versions of the life-saving cancer and HIV drugs (Zidovudine) within a few years of their US launch. Robust competition among generic producers in India has resulted in a price reduction of more than 99 percent for medicines across different therapeutic areas, including Hepatitis C, HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Tuberculosis and medicines for non-communicable diseases that are critical for public health programmes. But in the present day, a large part of the world rely on India , making the country a ‘pharmacy' of the world."

Today, India is the world’s primary source of affordable HIV medicines as it is one of the few countries with the capacity to quickly produce newer HIV drugs as generics.

Today, India is a main supplier of vaccines to UNICEF and to the Ministries of Health in numerous countries. India has been recognised as one of those eminent serviceable countries to provide one of the cheapest and quality vaccines to the world.

CRYPTOCURRENCY

The word
‘cryptocurrency’ can conjure up an abstract idea of a complex system including  blockchain, bitcoins, altcoins and so on. But in reality, the basic working mechanism of cryptocurrency is simpler than most of our day-to-day life activities. Cryptocurrency is the latest buzz in the world and in the era of digitization, it has proved to one of the greatest financial milestones till date. It  is nothing but a medium of exchange that uses the radical technique of cryptography and math to secure its transactions. As opposed to the centralised electronic money and central banking system it works on the basis of decentralized control i.e. there is no intermediary present between the sender and the recipient,  they transfer funds directly.

Cryptocurrencies are some database entries that cannot be changed by anyone without accomplishing certain specific conditions and therefore, this attribute evinces its highly-secured policy that is impossible to be breached by any agency.

CRYPTO TRADING PROCESS
In the crypto trading process, all confirmed transactions since the beginning are stored in a public ledger. The identities of the coin owners are encrypted, and the system uses other cryptographic techniques to ensure the legitimacy of record keeping. When the transaction gets submitted to a public ledger and awaits confirmation. Wallets use an encrypted electronic signature when a transaction is made. The signature is an encrypted piece of data called a cryptographic signature and it provides a mathematical proof that the transaction came from the owner of the wallet. The confirmation process takes a bit of time (ten minutes for bitcoin) while “miners” mine. Mining confirms the transactions and adds them to the public ledger.

MINING

Mining is open source so that anyone can confirm the transaction. The first “miner” to solve the puzzle adds a “block” of transactions to the ledger. The way in which transactions, blocks, and the public blockchain ledger work together ensure that no one individual can easily add or change a block at will. Once a block is added to the ledger, all correlating transactions are permanent, and they add a small transaction fee to the miner’s wallet (along with newly created coins). The mining process is what gives value to the coins and is known as a proof-of-work system.

Cryptocurrencies are proved to be the fastest and safest mode of transactions due to its  pseudonymous, irreversible, decentralized and permission-less qualities.

Advertisements are an important promotion aspect of a brand escalation. Without advertisements, a company value is a dime a dozen along with contemplated diminishing span.

We often tend to skip ads on you tube and televisions, deeming it to be an unimportant phase in our life but its massive impact on a huge part of people is immeasurable that benefits the respective companies immensely. You will be astonished to know that in recent picture, advertisements in social media has taken a toll in TV and Print media and one  cannot really disagree to the fact unless you are living in a world of denial that in the present day, every operational set-up, irrespective of their ROI, use social media networks as major platforms of marketing their brands.

According to Comscore Global Reports, in the US, it is revealed that Facebook is the leading social network for advertisement and non-Advertisement consumption. You-tube and twitter assume the second largest feeders of advertisement views trailing behind. Also, advertisement controversies aren't something undercover.

A continuous rivalry and bigotry is the household news of rival companies based on advertising techniques. Thanks to Social media. Wondering why and how? Well advertisements isn't really reduced to sponsors and banners. The continual advertising strategies in twitter, sometimes between JIo – airtel , Zomato – Swiggy or Ola – Uber are a daily affair. Well, who doesn't love controversies and dramatized issues? We all are guilty of loving them.  Hence its not really difficult to  picturise the elevated level of piloting advertisements and its advanced synergistic methods to lure away viewers and increase their brand value. Also, advertisements are an efficient way to propagandize equality, political affiliation or improvised tech. So the next time you skip ads, think! Because you never know what it has in store.

WOMEN'S HEALTH

In the era of progressive outlook, there is no doubt that women form the major pillars in different facets of society.  We have had to struggle a lot more in breaking glass ceilings and push society a whole out of their ways of thinking to evince our crucial roles in building democratic systems and sustainable economies. Inspite of bridging the gender gap to a great extent and covering a considerable zone of development, you cannot really disagree to the fact India  comprises major regions where women still remain behind closed doors and are succumbed to various kind of pressures and negligence, especially towards their health. In urban areas, you can notice their major concern in workplace, family and other roles often divert their focus from their own health problems leading to unnoticed critical diseases.

Women health has always been a major issue in India.Films and documentaries have been time and again directed to portray the poor health conditions of rural Indian women. Usage of hay, sacks and other unhealthy substances during menstrual period isn't something new that we hear. Be it due to shyness or their habitual supressed state of mind, rural women are often reluctant to approach medical help. Therefore, the World Health Organisation strives to promote women health care campaigns in isolated areas to create an impact in their lives .

Productive health-care is one of the major issues faced by women in India. There are women who aren't aware of the provision of fertility monitoring kits or pregnancy test kits and contraceptive pills and this can affect their lives to a great extent.  Ailments like osteoarthritis, split discs are diagnosed in 2 out of 5 women in India, various non-profitable NGOs have come up with notable solutions to these issues through their innovative medical equipments.

Estimates say India accounts for 1/3rd of cervical cancer deaths globally. In absolute terms, 130,000 new cases of cervical cancer every year and nearly 74,000 deaths. This cancer begins in the cervix which is the mouth of the uterus or womb, and one of its most important causes is the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). Disappointing, isn't it? But the shocking part is that there are more than thousands of such cases in India which are not even reported, i.e. women dying of negligence. And a definite solution to this issue is the need of the hour, hence, small scale social medical campaigns are promoting Cervical Cancer Screening with Govt and Women Community Healthcare workers which can screen 3000 women in next one year, a step towards women health prosperity.

At present, the Government seeks to strengthen gender equality by provision of basic medical amenities to witness a progressive report in women's health. This National Women's Health Week, let us all foster Women's Health Awareness and impart to the various initiatives taken for their betterment, a path towards women empowerment.
